MEET THE COACHES

MELISSA

YAKUP

My goal is to walk along side you and be the most positive impact on your wellness journey.

I thrive on watching clients become who they always wanted to be – but were unsure of how to get there.

With over 15 years of experience as a Group Fitness Instructor, Director and Personal Trainer – I have coached thousands of fitness classes in a variety of different formats. I enjoy working with all fitness levels – including young athletes, someone struggling with weight loss and grandparents looking to keep up with their grandkids.

My certifications include: NASM CPT, Schwinn Cycling, AAAI/ISMA Group Fitness, Personal Trainer, Mat Pilates, Mad Dogg Level 2 Advanced Cycling and Power Instructor.

Fun fact! I have been in a TV gym commercial.

My greatest happiness comes when clients realize the true impact of feeling well and that they are capable of living and maintaining a healthy life. YOU CAN DO IT!

DEITCH

“Leap and the net will appear”
This quote is my mantra in life and helped to shape my decision to become a Journey 333 Fitness franchise owner — a huge, but exciting, leap.

Taking leaps started soon after I earned my MBA and got married. Like so many other college-bound young people, I followed the expected path. Then, I got the opportunity to leave a comfortable job at a Fortune 500 company to work for a start-up. It was a leap that at first worked out well. I was successful and life was good, but I was still searching for GREAT.

Part of my “great” vision was to become a mom, but I struggled with infertility. For 10 years I fought that battle, which included two failed adoption attempts. However, I never gave up and fought through a grueling – and crazy — adoption process that resulted in my becoming the proud mom of an amazing daughter.

Fast forward to 2018…..My life had taken a series of twists and turns. I was divorced and working crazy hours as a retail executive. I was trying to balance life as a single mother of an active 10 year old, steadily gaining weight, and stressed to the max. I knew I did not want to continue living this way. I wasn’t living, I was just existing.

While in that thick fog, I started to remember the happiest time in my life (other than when I got the call about adopting my daughter). A few years before, I was an active part of a fun fitness community in Las Vegas. Yet, since moving back to Palm Beach County in 2013, I was not able to find any fitness offering that came close to what I had in Nevada. I had tried just about every class at every type of gym in the area.

Then, I had my “ah ha” moment — the “if you build it they will come” moment — the moment that makes you terrified and excited at the same time. Another opportunity for a life leap opened up to me. I decided once again to leave corporate life to open a fitness studio. I was determined to build a unique fun fitness community right here in North Palm Beach!

My friends and family told me I was crazy. Then, the 2020 pandemic hit. I thought to myself for a brief minute, “who in their right mind opens a new fitness studio when the economy in down and a virus is spreading?” Then, I realized, “it’s the crazy ones with a dream that believe anything is possible….and if not now, then when?”

Plus, who better to own a fitness studio than someone like me? I have battled my weight my entire life (seriously, a 100-pound range of ups and downs), but I never let it define me. I may not “look” like a typical gym owner and am not a certified trainer. Although, I may not have experience in the fitness industry, I have plenty of personal experience. No one understands the gym client more than I do.

Most important, my 4+ year tenure at Neiman Marcus taught me the value of sterling customer service. As a human resource executive, I also know how to assemble a team to make the magic happen. Together with my own personal experience and my unyielding commitment to passion, purpose and perseverance, I will make a difference for each one of my clients here at Journey 333 Fitness North Palm Beach. No matter your size, age or ability, we will make fitness fun for you.

To everyone willing to leap with me at Journey 333 Fitness, together we will create something special in North Palm Beach every day, and beyond. I’ve proven that when you LEAP the NET will appear!
